Welcome to the Art of Bob
You've found the Art of Bob!
All the art you see on this site is painted digitally in the same way a traditional artist works. The digital medium is very versatile. Final images do not have to be scanned or photographed to be prepared for printing. These processes can lead to less than satisfactory results. Since the final piece is digital, it can go straight to the printer. Any color correction or enhancements can be done as the painting is in process or when the piece is finished.
Please check out the gallery to see examples of my work.
OK. So, everyone asks, "How much?" I ask myself the same question, "How much...should I charge?" You might expect an artist to say, "I love doing it so much, I'd do it for free!". Well, it's hard to plug in my computer and create art while living under a bridge. So, I have to make my best attempt to come up with a fair price, and also, someday, maybe, make a living at this.
There are many variations for a portrait: one dog, chest and up, head only, full dog, dog playing in a swimming pool full of jellybeans? More than one dog, two, maybe five? All laying on their favorite animal print blanket? 8 x 10, 11 x 14, 16 x 20? You get the idea. LOTS of options.
So, getting back to THE POINT, I like to say my paintings START at $150 which covers one dog, basic portrait-type background at a size up to 11" x 14". Larger sizes, full animal, more dogs, etc., will go up in price. How much depends on lots of factors and combinations, so for now, we'll just leave it as simple as possible. The finished product is a high resolution JPEG file that you will download from my site which you can have printed anywhere you'd like.
That's just a starting number, so please get in touch with me through the How to Contact Bob page to discuss you exact requirements.
So, for no apparent reason, or all the reasons in the world, order a beautiful portrait of your pet. Furry, scaly, or plumaged (I know that's not a word but, I'm setting a precedent). Operators are standing by...well, sitting...leaning? OK, well, there are no operators. Just me. So, I guess I'M standing by.
